Listen With Your Heart — ‘Little Lessons’ 7—10

Excerpts 7—10 from the book Listen With Your Heart — A Simple Inspiration in Multiple Languages have been uploaded as part of a single page in the original channeled English version along with the available translations. General information about the book, excerpts and the LWYH project is also available.

Listen With Your Heart

In the waning days of 2011, I was able to complete the conversion of the book Listen With Your Heart — A Simple Meditation in Multiple Languages to an electronic book (eBook) and upload it to Amazon’s Kindle Store for distribution. This new eBook has several unusual features:

  • Unusual — The core content of the book consists of an automatic writing channeling session which sought information from the highest and most knowledgeable “authority” — in fact, from the root source of all knowledge
    — and I believe that was source of the reply; essentially from God.
  • Unique — In addition to background information about the channeling session and automatic writing process, ten translations are included within the pages of the same book, in addition to the original English version. This may be the first time that a single book contains eleven languages, and it is certainly the first such eBook.
  • Unique — The original eleven-language book is considered as Volume 1 of a series called Listen With Your Heart. Volume 2 is the English-only version, and Volumes 3 through 12 capture the original English channeled version plus one other language. All 12 volumes are listed below, along with links to the Kindle Store:  Read More…

Channeling 2011/11/05 — Many Paths to God and to Heaven

Introductory Remarks

One of the most important aspects of The Soul Channel is the opportunity to share channeled sessions. For my channeling/meditation sessions, I find it easiest to use automatic writing on a computer, which is discussed extensively in a previous two-part Automatic Writing article/post.

I recently wrote a book review for The Soul Channel on Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back, in which a boy not quite 4 years old had a near death experience and visited Heaven. Sometime after recovery, the boy seemed quite emphatic that souls cannot get back into Heaven without Jesus in their heart. The Soul Channel is not intended to promote any individual religion, and I personally do not believe that souls who do not accept Jesus as their personal savior cannot go to Heaven. Therefore, I felt a strong need to address this question with the Soul Side and to share the answer on The Soul Channel.

I believe that all spiritual paths lead to God and to the light (to Heaven). Therefore, in this specific session, I am seeking to examine the validity of the little boy’s conviction that the only path to Heaven is through Jesus. I decided to pose this question first to my Council of Elders and then directly to the Creator. (When channeling, never impose limits on who you want to communicate with.)

For this two-way (ask and receive) channeling session, all items in italics are questions or comments by the author; all other information is channeled. The date shown below is the actual date the session took place; not the posting date. Read More…

Channeling 2011/11/04 — How Can Spiritual Divinity be ‘Always Available’

Introductory Remarks

One of the most important aspects of The Soul Channel is the opportunity to share channeled sessions. This might also be considered as a meditation session, as meditation is certainly involved as part of the process of clearing the mind so as to be open to the channeled communications. For my channeling/meditation sessions, I find it easiest to use automatic writing on a computer, which is discussed extensively in a previous two-part Automatic Writing article/post.

In this specific session, I am seeking to understand how spiritual divinity (God, Allah, Jesus, St. Michael, etc.) are ‘always available’ to communicate and respond to questions and prayer. I decided to pose this question directly to the Creator. (Why not?)

For this two-way (ask and receive) channeling session, all items in italics are questions or comments by the author; all other information is channeled. The date shown below is the actual date the session took place; not the posting date.

2011-09-30

For this session, I would be grateful to communicate directly with God. Is this allowed, and can we do this within a flexible, multi-session discussion.

Of course, John. It would be valuable for people to understand that I am ALWAYS available, just as I am ALWAYS with and within every person. Similarly, the mechanism or approach to communication is not so important; what is important is the effort made to communicate and the openness for discussion.

Which leads to my primary question and the foundation of this discussion. If we recognize that there are many tens of billions of galaxies within the known universe, billions of star systems within those galaxies, billions of planets within those star systems, and according to Carl Sagan, “the total number of stars in the universe is greater than all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the planet Earth.” How can You be everywhere at once, and how are You able to find time to communicate with even a single being once in a lifetime, let alone being “ALWAYS available”? Q&A — Atonement and Karma, 09/19/2011

[From time to time I receive questions through email or blog comments about spiritual and soul therapy issues. I know in my heart that these delightful inquiries from a few kind people actually respond to similar questions by many participants in The Soul Channel. So I have decided to share portions of the questions and responses without identifying the source of the inquiry.]

Question:

How does the process of experiential learning as part of multiple lives fit in with God and the Christian concept of atonement?

Edited Response:

The concept of atonement (making amends for misdeeds and wrong-doing) is a cornerstone of many religions, especially Christianity. For Hinduism and Buddhism, the concept is “bad karma”, recognizing that there are both bad and good deeds in physical life (bad and good karma); one is rewarded or punished in one life for the deeds in a previous life. How you believe atonement occurs is one of the important tenets of your personal faith; thus any discussion on the matter creates the possibility of shaking one’s faith; I applaud your courage, and I will do my best not to crack that foundation.

We come into this world to experience that which we cannot experience in the total love environment of the soul side, and we make this journey with the blessing and the unconditional love of God, who has given us free will. In this world with billions of people, some are perceived as truly evil, while others are perceived as true humanitarians and philanthropists; most fall somewhere in the middle of these extremes; the diversity of the extremes of human nature offers an infinite number of combinations of possible interactions, both positive and negative. In planning our lives, we obtain assistance from experienced souls who will not be in physical form at the same time we are; and we make agreements and commitments with other souls for various relationships and interactions, again including actions which might be perceived as good or bad from different individual perspectives. These concepts lead to the following considerations: Read More…

Q&A — Spontaneous Meditation, 9/13/2011

[From time to time I receive questions through email or blog comments about spiritual and soul therapy issues. I know in my heart that these delightful inquiries from a few kind people actually respond to similar questions by many participants in The Soul Channel. So I have decided to share portions of the responses without identifying the source of the inquiry.]

Question:

I wanted to ask for your guidance in meditation. As far as I understood, all studies and therapies lead to meditation anyway as it is a universal way to obtain knowledge of yourself and heal yourself psychologically and physically. For some people it is quite natural to go into this state of consciousness, but for me it is not like that. I believe I experienced something called ‘spontaneous meditation’, which occurs a couple of minutes before falling asleep and in the pre-awakening state. Sometimes it amounts to vibrations; sometimes I have a strange feeling that I can see my body from aside laying in the bed or sitting. But it is not meditation.

Edited Response:

Although the inquiry is about meditation, the discussion focuses more toward near-dream states and out-of-body experiences. From a clinical perspective, the normal, alert state of mind is the ‘beta’ level of consciousness. As brain activities slow (fewer cycles per second of vibration), we move into the ‘alpha’ level of consciousness; as this progresses, the control by the conscious mind becomes shared with the unconscious mind, which is the ‘gateway to the soul.’ This transition from beta to alpha consciousness is the near-dream state (perhaps a fantasy state) and applies whether in bed preparing for sleep or simply sitting somewhere and day-dreaming or even fantasizing. It is also a brief moment in time when interesting things happen to your senses, which seem momentarily trapped between two worlds — literally between two states of consciousness and two competing states of control. The Soul

What is the Soul

Most religions recognize the existence of the soul. But what is the soul? Although this is examined widely in the literature, one of my favorite resource on this question is the book entitled 50 Big Ideas, by Ben Dupre. What makes this book especially intriguing is that the author captures discussions on this question from great thinkers across the past 2,400 years. Some of these extracts from Dupre’s book are synthesized below, with each of them prevalent today in various spiritual and religious discussions around the world:

  • Plato argued that souls are immortal and transcendent. “The soul is immortal and capable of enduring all extremes of good and evil.” In sharp contrast, Aristotle maintained that the notion of a soul separate from a physical body is simply nonsense. (2,400 B.C.E) Read More…

Automatic Writing — Part 1

History of Automatic Writing

One of the most common forms of channeling information from the Soul Side is a personal “automatic writing” session. This concept will be new to many readers, while it is actually a common practice with a long history. Automatic writing derived over time from the concept of “free association writing” used in psychoanalysis as first developed by Sigmund Freud. Yet its roots date back to the early “stream of consciousness” concept found in early Buddhist scriptures (specifically, in the Digha Nikaya; reference Steven Collins,
Selfless Persons: Imagery and Thought in Theravada Buddhism
,
Cambridge University Press, 1982).

In 1890, the psychologist and philosopher William James published his Principles of Truth. James’ description of the mind-world connection described in terms of the “stream of consciousness” had a direct and significant impact on the development and expansion of “stream of consciousness writing.” This is commonly associated with the modernist movement in literature in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Stream of consciousness writing guides the reader to visualize or perceive a character’s point of view through the written equivalent of the character’s thought processes. Examples of stream of consciousness writing include Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina (1873), William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury (1929), and Nobel laureate Nadine Gordimer’s July’s People (1981).  Read More…

Automatic Writing — Part 2

The Process of Automatic Writing

For several decades, the famous author Ruth Montgomery was able to connect with an entity (soul or guide) on the Soul Side which identified itself as Lily. Although originally very skeptical, Ruth became quite comfortable over time with the information channeled from Lily as having a high degree of accuracy in terms of the information which was able to be verified in the physical world (e.g., people, places, dates, events, predictions, etc.). As a result, her automatic writing became the source of many successful books on spirituality. (On a personal level, my complete collection of Ruth Montgomery’s books are among my favorite reading and reference books.)

After reading one of Ruth Montgomery’s books on the subject of automatic writing, I was inspired to try it myself. As commonly happens with unfamiliar concepts, my early attempts at automatic writing failed. This was due in part to impatience, but it was primarily due to the frustration of learning to apply a centuries old technique in an era of advanced communication technology. While Ruth Montgomery relied on the pen and paper technique, I found it difficult while in meditation to keep track of a moving pencil on a page of limited dimensions and with limited space. I had no awareness of the edges of the paper and felt that the simple process of changing pages was unnecessarily disruptive to the meditation. Read More…

Reliability of Channeled Information and Intuitive Readings

Confusion often arises over the accuracy of information provided to clients by mediums, intuitive readers, diagnostic readers, and other channelers. I am often asked how to determine if channeled information is accurate, comprehensive, flexible or “set in stone” so as to be unchangeable. Whenever working with mediums and intuitive readers, please keep the following in mind:

1.      All channeled information is filtered through the conscious mind, emotions and vocabulary of the channeler. Filtered information may contain information which is biased based on the beliefs and understanding of the channeler. A “pure channel” is a person who is able to allow their conscious mind to “step aside” during the session so that the channeler cannot filter or bias the information. This is much easier said than done.  Read More…
